Dr. Bhanu Bahl is a Director of Informatics Programs at Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center, Harvard Medical School. She is a physician with a Ph.D in biomedical informatics. At Harvard Catalyst, Bhanu is director of NIH funded informatics projects to facilitate collaborative research in preclinical and clinical domain.

Dr. Fenniri received all his degrees from the Université de Strasbourg, France. After postdoctoral training at the Scripps Research Institute, he moved to Purdue University, where he initiated his independent academic career, and established the Purdue Laboratory for Chemical Nanotechnology (1999). In 2003, He joined the National Research Council and the University of Alberta (Edmonton, AB, Canada) as Professor of Chemistry (2003-2013). Dr. Fenniri is currently Professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA.

Dr. Fenniri’s contributions appeared in over 220 publications, 20 patents and patent applications, and over 450 contributed national and international conference papers. Dr. Fenniri has also lectured extensively around the globe and he has been an invited professor at several institutes and universities.

Professor Zodwa Dlamini is the Deputy Vice Chancellor; Research, Innovation & Engagements at Mangosuthu University of Technology and a Professor of Molecular and Functional Genomics. She was previously the Deputy Executive Dean at UNISA. She is also the current Vice-Chairperson of the South African Medical Research Council Board. She obtained her BSc and BSc.Hons. in Biochemistry from the University of the Western Cape, MSc from the University of Natal and PhD from the University of Natal. Her research interests include the “omics” technologies including the use of bioinformatics to provide unprecedented possibilities to identify the underlying molecular basis of cancer.

Yingxu Wang is professor of cognitive informatics, brain science, software science, and denotational mathematics. He is President of International Institute of Cognitive Informatics and Cognitive Computing (ICIC, http://www.ucalgary.ca/ icic/). He is a Fellow of ICIC, a Fellow of WIF (UK), a P.Eng of Canada, and a Senior Member of IEEE and ACM. He has been visiting professor (on sabbatical leave) at Oxford University (1995), Stanford University (2008 | 2016), UC Berkeley (2008), and MIT (2012), respectively. He received a PhD in Computer Science from the Nottingham Trent University in 1998 and has been a full professor since 1994. He is the founder and steering committee chair of the annual IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Informatics and Cognitive Computing (ICCI*CC) since 2002.

Dr. Wang is the initiator of a few cutting-edge research fields such as cognitive informatics, denotational mathematics (concept algebra, process algebra, system algebra, semantic algebra, inference algebra, big data algebra, fuzzy truth algebra, fuzzy probability algebra, fuzzy semantic algebra, visual semantic algebra, and granular algebra), abstract intelligence (I), the neural circuit theory, mathematical models of the brain, cognitive computing, cognitive learning engines, cognitive knowledge base theory, and basic studies across contemporary disciplines of intelligence science, robotics, knowledge science, computer science, information science, brain science, system science, software science, data science, neuroinformatics, cognitive linguistics, and computational intelligence.

Hansen A. Mansy received his PhD in engineering from IIT, Chicago, IL in 1990. After postdoctoral training and working in industry, he joined the faculty of Rush University in 2003 and moved to Univedrsity of Central Florida in 2013.

His research has focused on investigating vibroacousic phenomena and developing related medical diagnostic tools. He has received significant federal and foundation research funding, published scientific articles, received patents, and continues to serve as an editorial board member and grant reviewer for many national and international organizations (including NIH, NSF, DoD, AFOSR).

Dr. Peng-Sheng Wei received Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering Department at University of California, Davis. He is now a professor in the Department of Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering of National Sun Yat-Sen University (NSYSU), Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Dr. Wei has contributed to advancing the understanding of and to the applications of electron and laser beam, plasma, and resistance welding through theoretical analyses coupled with verification experiments. Investigations also include studies of their thermal and fluid flow processes, and formations of the defects such as humping, rippling, spiking and porosity.
